Anyone in the Internet may buy used woodwinds. Woodwinds are the appliances where flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and saxophone are included in. In the early periods they were made exclusively of wood, that's why they are named woodwinds. This kind of production is left behind the centuries but some people still utilize wood in the structure of these instruments. After the way of blowing the woodwinds are divided into two types: labial & lingual. In labials the air is blown into the particular lateral opening on the top of the musical instrument. Inside the tube the stream of air is cut in two portions with the border. The sound emerges owing to the vibration of air stream inside the tube. Together with other musical instruments flute is related to this kind too. The structure of lingual instruments is slightly differing. There is a reed through which the performer injects the air. Clarinet and saxophone refer to this sort and some types of uncommon musical instruments. Vibration is created with the help of the reed in lingual musical instruments that is placed on the top of it. There are two types of reeds too: single and double. A single reed is a small cane and its function is to close orifice in the mouthpiece of the woodwind instrument and to leave there a narrow slit. When the artist is blowing the air into the instrument, the reed is vibrating with a high frequency opening and closing the canal inside the instrument. A double reed is a tight connection of 2 cane blades in the mouthpiece of the instrument. Resonance is created by the current of air that shuts and opens the gap between the canes. People refer oboe and bassoon to these musical instruments. Read the rest of this entry »
